Since the entry validity period of a Chinese visa is generally three months, if you apply too early, the visa may expire and become invalid before your departure.

For instance, if you plan to enter China on July 1st, it is best to submit your visa application around June 1st.

Please note that for some types of visas, the entry validity period is only one month or less. You may need to apply for the visa about two weeks in advance.
